Pleasures await our visit (short poem)

I know, time and tide wait for none,

It was good to catch up with you once.

Have we lost the track of time?

Or have we forgotten how to smile?

Haste, worries, work and gain,

Lifetime is lost in catching the train.

Simple pleasures await our visit,

Pool of responsibilities, no time to exit.

We always smiled like a bloom,

Now it happens once in blue moon.

Parks, dinners, movies and fun,

All are on the verge of elimination.

Says Sneha, materials meet extinction,

Let’s collect memories for the long run.

There is one life to share and forgive,

To yourselves, give chances to live.

Image captured by me (April 2016)

Will you?

Will you not be there to share

My joy, sorrow and my love?

Will you not be there to walk

With me to the heaven above?

I have missed you each day

In my moments of hope and despair.

I have missed you each night

In my moments of comfort and fear.

Will you remember me when you’d be

Alone in the room filled with crowd?

Will you remember me when you’d be

Speaking of your struggles aloud.

I have tried to stay away from you

To let you set your priorities.

I have prayed each day for you

To God to help you with your duties.

Will you realise someday that

One cannot live without love too?

Will you realise someday that

One girl of your dreams waits for you?

(I am a book, I am a friend) Hindi poem

Sister

My dear sweet sister,

You are the epitome of a warrior.

Your charm and spirit indomitable,

Makes me revere you as an angel.

——————————-

I wrote this in the memory of a departed soul. In the above lines a brother calls out to her late sister.

I came across a FB page Justice For Akanksha run by a brother seeking justice for her late sister, Akanksha. She was murdered by her in-laws. The husband and his family still roam free as the guilt has not been proved yet.

Love Story (short poem)

My love story is short and simple,

In love with a man with dimple!

His arms are as strong as a wall,
He is smart, handsome and tall.

I meet him always in my dreams,
He greets me with a smile that gleams.

He holds my hands, takes me for a walk,
I blush and smile, lost in his talk.

One day soon he will walk in,
Morn to eve I’m eagerly waiting.

Together we would share the joy and sorrow,

Goodness, challenges of life would follow.
